Read Poem: BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE, by Tanasha Friar

You like putting women down.
You wear that ill-will like a crown.
You strategize when to turn their smile upside down.
Because you secretly wear a frown.
You’re consumed with your own misery
Jealous by their success.
Pretending to love and enhance their ability
When deeply you’re a f**** mess!
When will you realize your insecurity is your fall?
The fear you live by keeps you against the wall.
Not the women who’ve tried to love you
And show you a better way
You constantly keep them at bay.
Rejecting their flaws and lack of perfection
When it’s actually your own reflection,
You can’t stand to see them fly
You sabotage leaving them asking why.
Run back from whence you came
To hibernate, then again, to begin the game.
You emerge as if you are the victor
But, you’re a small man because
You picked her
Tricked her
Contradicted her
You afflicted her
You predicted her
Understand though, there’s always consequences to
your flow.

Before you know it, God will show it
Believe in Him or not, He’s going to touch your right
spot.
Show you what it’s like to not take flight
Uncovering your blind eyes and malice heart
So you can stop tearing others apart.
Leading you to a crossroad,
Seeing which way you choose
If you don’t take the right one
You will definitely continue to lose.
Will you keep being a fool?
Or will you take the path to get schooled?
He will lead you out the depth of your darkness and
into the light.
Release past pain that came to you into the night
Stop hurting women, stop calling them names
Stop hurting yourself and going insane.
Remember when I said you emerge a victor?
Decide to follow Him, genuinely
Because He is the predictor
Of your fate.
Don’t fret, not using you as bait.
Just me telling you, before it’s too late.
