Read Poem: She Bit Me, by Jess Paxton

She bit me

She actually bit me
She warned me many times
but I never saw it coming

Her perfectly even teeth
left perfectly even bite marks
top to bottom, side to side

On occasion, I admit,
we have had our disagreements
which often end with shouting
Bite me, Bitch!
and slamming out the door

But this time she bit me
She really bit me this time

and I never saw it coming

I want to fight with her again
