Read Poem/Song: To Own An Angel, by Paul John Fletcher

VERSE 1

Such privilege and great honor
To own an Angel
Sadly anyone can
Justly as if they are to be wedded
Pet breeders and owners
Should be heavily vetted

So happy and merry
Legend of legendary
I’m hairy not scary
Go walkies foot ferry

Forever young in spirit
Outstanding in Merit
So smart so cool
You learn the rule
At puppy school

Creme de la creme
Star emblem
Childlike moonbeam
Dream team supreme

Knowledge of me is key
Keep me free
A reflexion of owner
I’m whatever you make me
Happily I bend my knee
You’re the trainee
Of all I will ever be

Don’t cage us in a fuss
The cage is my safe place
Where I feel secure
My special space base

Unconditional love
Simple so sweet
Think about me and treat
Kindly and well

I may seem strong
Hit me not
Striking us is wrong
Effects of that is long

Friends of timeless joy
Your devoted Envoy
Us not a toy
Always a Good Girl! Good Boy!

CHORUS

A trillion caret creature
Quintessential of nature
Bravest type of saint
A blank canvas you paint

Loyal and honest
Your besty for life
Whisper and command
Together we stand
My paw in your hand

VERSE 2

Dog shaking
Hot day we baking
Leave not in car
Care us near and afar

Exciting spark
In the park
Hark at our bark
Out in the dark

Hyper ball game
Electric lightning aflame
Definite ball thief
Often all teef

Big eyes beg we trick
Bolting food quick
Eat till we’re sick
Always find biggest stick

Love learning new tricks
Three hundred million smell receptors
To your mere six
World speaks us sense of smells
Can even detect threatening cells

Contradictory though we
Stick nose on in poo wee
Custom greeting not for thee
Sniffing nether areas in glee

Great range of jobs unconfined
First car was a sled pulled by K-Nines
From norm hunt herd guide guards
Art protection crisis responders
Lobster catching spit turning chefs
Whale poop truffle finders
Detectorists of milk wine humans
Wildlife control and many more

Awestruck Angelic contagiousness
Whomever lucky be eyewitness
Such heroic courageousness
All Dogs true selflessnes

Hard to miss feel see our worth
Our heaven is down here on earth
In service and joy please we not a toy
Just simply natures love envoy

CHORUS

A trillion caret creature
Quintessential of nature
Bravest type of saint
A blank canvas you paint

Loyal and honest
Your besty for life
Whisper and command
Together we stand
My paw in your hand
