LIFE Poem: An Unrequited Nothing, by Tamara Gray

Let’s pretend the longing
will crawl off. You tell me
where to deflate and disappear
unnoticed in my own mirror.

How nice. Your leg over mine.
I’ve painted a song for
the prairie state landscape
in which I am lost but
can see for miles around.
