A smile that hit like a knockout punch.
Hair that was definitely not a natural red,
but who cares?
Laughter that belted across the whole parking lot,
unafraid of whoever was walking to their car
at that moment.
Concern that matched any grandma’s, despite us being total strangers.
Five minutes wasn’t enough.
It wasn’t love, per say,
moreso a permission granted,
a green light to be real.
