SCI-FI/FANTASY Poem: THE HUM, by Alex McNall

listen long
to the rustling
of reality
you weave
with every thought
and automatic
into static
insects will appear
to spread and eat
cosmic teeth
consciousness consumed
smoke them out
with mindlessness
and choke upon the fog
plug your ears
avert your eyes
insects thrive
hiding
biding time
until you
sleep
dream
drift
and finally
join the noise
