LGBTQ+ Poem: my grandfather remembers how to breathe moss, by Syf Sloane

when deep at sea with breakheads
remembering how to dethrone mountains
sweetened condensed milk thick on his tongue

he sees the orkneys lost in a pacific haze
been too long since he felt cold
saw the jagged coast embrace

sputtering starlight of the marrow
in his bones
