BODY IMAGE Poem: Fake a Smile, by Emagene Greene

Do you wanna hear something crazy?
It’s really fucking wild.
The corners of my lips
Used to turn up like a smile.
But if you saw me now?
I always wear a frown.
It’s not because I’m lazy.
Every single day I try.
But to fake a smile?
Feels like running for a mile.
