TRAGIC Poem: Fear, by Lorraine

The moon is scared of the day,
The sun is scared of the night.
I am scared of my mother,
and my mother is scared of my father.
O, how marvellous it is to be scared;
to be acquainted with fear.
To have its prickly tendrils wrap around you in a brutish embrace.
To have him seize your mind,
and take your thoughts hostage.
To have him raid your heart,
and furnish it with disquiet.
What a boon it is to be scared!
He always keeps me on edge.
