GRIEF Poem: Dearest, by Maggie Shurtleff

Dearest.

Grief.

Does not go away.

It mutates
In to favorites…

flowers and bees
Perfumes
Colors of leaves

Songs sung and heard
Tears falling

Deep deep unspoken words

Internal yellings
Swimming in oceans swallowing cries

Deep sighs
Over and over
As if the air
Would ever be less heavy
Ever again

Some day they say
