FREE VERSE Poem: My Birthday, by Gabrielle Taylor

I’ve always shared my birthday.
It has never been solely mine.
I fear the day it is.

When my birthday is no longer shared
I will cry.
I will never be the same.
I will miss you.

Because ‘my’ birthday isn’t just mine
It’s ours.
I love you mom.
