ENVIRONMENTAL Poem: Not Dead, by Sandi Timbus

Dead trees make home
to singing birds.

Dead trees hold swings
to laughing children.

Dead trees make shadow
to the tired.

Dead trees feed
Woodpeckers.

Dead trees are not dead.

Fake bail still catches fish.

The mind is still tricked to wonder away
