The theme of my poem is; The yearning of a disabled woman who’ll never have the privilege of motherhood

2) How would you like people to respond when they read or watch your poetry reading?

I’m hoping the audience who are going to read/watch my poem, will share in the longing and pain of the disabled woman in the poem. I’m also hoping the audience will be sympathetic and show empathy and understanding towards disabled women who’ll never have the privilege of motherhood

Since I was sixteen years old. I’m In my forties now

Selfishness and guilt
Taking advantage of power
Racing up our own hills
It’s crazy how we all think
It’s crazy what makes us crave
Remember all that drown or sink
Forget not to save
People who’ve been broken
Selfless creating mourn
Ones who’ve been outspoken
Shredded ripped and torn
Uses for our own worth
Body flesh and bones
Not stopping to think who we hurt
Making it all our own
