WARP MESSENGER
by Stephen Karnaghan

It was as if I were a painting …
abstract splash of colour …
no subject …
a road …
people walking …
over weight …
angry …
jealous …
not hiding their distaste …
they showed a distaste for me …
sneering hatred …
scared …
scared of me …
who …
what …
what had I done …
I could not recognise myself …
one person came …
surrounded by a rainbow …
rainbow of magnificent colours …
music danced around her …
she was walking towards me …
I called to her …
beautiful ambient sounds …
atmospheric …
infiltrating …
giving people colour …
sweeping hatred and anger …
people now sat before me …
spirits open to see …
longing to be free …
free of their conscious minds …
serenading them into happiness …
they grew old…
