Death, Poetry by Dwain F. Hill

WILDsound Festival

Genre: Death, Rhyme, Relationship

Oh sweet death, I’ve waited so long, my constant
companion, it never felt wrong.
You never have left me, been by my side.
I’ve looked for you always, not wanting to hide.

Your peace settles round me, life’s problems recede.
The darkness an ending, no fear not a need.
I await nothing further; all problems are gone.
A great spirit flows over, I’m enveloped in song.

I feel the brightness; it warms my skin.
My ancestors await me, all knowing I’ve been.
Their shouts are joyous, so fresh without sin.
The happiness surrounds me; I’ve forgot where I’d been.

Their love does fulfill me, Lord Jesus smiles down.
Heaven awaits me, it’s eternity no bound.
