Read Poem: TOO LATE, by Jacob Black

Anger, hatred, bitterness, and strife.

Escalation to rock to bat, to gun and knife.

Our hearts are becoming cold, we’re losing our way.

Sick and tired of the violence I see every day.

Apathy like concrete clogs our veins

When our compassion fades, our hatred reigns.

Is it too late for us? Are we too far gone?

Was this our destiny all along?

Anger, hatred, bitterness, and strife.

Escalation to rock to bat, to gun and knife.

The more we fear, the more we hate,

the more suffering and destruction become our fate.

I believe we can change, change our way

and

live in brotherhood, love, and peace one day.

It’s not too late.
