I am holding together the cracks of my despair
Hidden behind this muted smile and pressed hair
One more hit and I’ll drop these broken pieces
The tide rides high on these receding beaches
It’s a perilous path down the streets with broken lanes
You can walk over its stones but you can’t feel its pain …
