Read Poem: Three Pennies, by Lily Small

‘For three pennies I’ll give you my chocolate bar’ said Sammy
‘Pennies don’t even exist anymore’ said Grammy
‘But those pennies are magic and old’ said Sammy
‘They’re fantasy for me, but you treat them like gold ‘ said Grammy
They’re as real as the sky,’ said Sammy
.’….that covers what’s on the other side’
‘Fine, said Granny. Now climb up real high…
close your eyes, don’t peek, and I’ll hide.
‘Ready or not, here I come’ said Sammy
‘If you find me, then I’ll give you three pennies’ said Grammy
‘But my chocolate’s all melted now’ sobbed Sammy
