1) What is your very short story about?

The story is about the juxtaposition between love and loss, life and death, hope and fear.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

Being limited on word count, was very exciting. Each word had to count and carry an overall meaning. I submitted it to the festival in the hope that I would be able to see it turned into a short film, and to get feedback.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

The movie I have watched most in my life is The Di Vinci Code

4) How many scripts and stories have you written?

I have written 4 scripts for a ‘Most Haunted’ type programme

5) What artists would you love to work with?

Story read by actress Maya Woloszyn

Get to know writer Helen Freeman:

1) What is your very short story about?

My short story is about two friends sitting and talking and deciding who annoys them the most. They decide to start a list and title it, “People I Want to Punch in the Face”.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

I have been toying with this idea for a while, and found that keeping anything to 140 characters was quite difficult. I also just wanted to see how it would be received.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

That would be hard to say. One of my favorites is “Forrest Gump” , “Gone With the Wind”; and I thought “Boyhood” was brilliant.

4) How many scripts and stories have…

Prank Call, Twitter Short Story by Lucas Ruderman

Watch the 140 Character Short Story: PRANK CALL:

Story read by actress Maya Woloszyn

Get to know writer Lucas Ruderman:

1) What is your very short story about?

My very short story is about a middle-aged man who has absolutely had it with these prank calls. He gets the old “Is your refrigerator running?” and the little kids laughing trying to remain serious. Fed up with the constant annoyance, he immediately answers his next call with an angry greeting. This is followed by several curses and crude phrases. He is satisfied with his outburst until he hears the frightened and scarred sounding tone of his mother’s voice. This of course is followed by a lecture about how he was raised much better than he had portrayed.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

My father used to get prank phone calls all the…

It’s about a person who is tired of the sound of footsteps.

I was open in front of him
by Cindreia Europe

Air rushing in my caverns winds tearing at my insides making me all too aware
Of my emptiness where love should be
Of my cliffs that jut and tear at
The ragged rawness inside of me
I am empty where I should be full and full of only the wrong things

I bared my landscape to the warmth of his sun
Time stopped, a brief ice age before my global warming

But I don’t know what happens next
This all happened in another universe
But here
He is someone else’s sun
And I am still a barren wasteland

Lonely Is The Hunter, Poetry by Mila

Lonely Is The Hunter by Mila

My Supernatural poem about Dean Winchester

Moonlight crashes through the window
Wind howls, or was it a werewolf?
teeth gnashing in the twilight hues
I heard a sound of wailing – was it you?
Creaking, creeping through freshly fallen snow
echoes of breathing deeper and deeper
eyes are bright, slowly taking you in
I fall, you fall, tender and strong
Heartbeats rising, beating breathless
must be something more than empty promises
I lie, you lie, fate’s been decided
kismet delivers
but you dear boy, don’t believe in destiny
Our time is up, loneliness forever
Can’t fight a good fight living in shadows
It was my dream to meet you but nothing lasts
too tumultuous the ending
and silence stills the stirring heart

HANGMAN by Kevin Short

HANGMAN, HANGMAN, HANG IN LOOSE
I GOT NOOSE FOR YOU
I’M NOT GONNA DIE TODAY
SO NOW WHATCHA GONNA DO?
AND HE GRABBED MY LEGS
HE STABBED MY CHEST
HE TRIED TO KILL ME WITH
A BOY SCOUT KNIFE
BUT WHEN I SHOUTED AKELA
HIS FACE GREW PALER
HE TRIED TO TAKE HIS OWN LIFE, I SAID
HANGMAN, HANGMAN, HANG IN LOOSE
I GOT NOOSE FOR YOU
YOU’RE NOT GONNA DIE TODAY
SO NOW WHATCHA GONNA DO? HE SAID
WELL, SOMEONE’S GOT TO DIE
SOMEONE’S GOT TO DIE
THE CROWD ARE GETTING RESTLESS
THEY’RE HERE TO HEAR A DEATH WISH
SO, IT’S YOU OR I
AN EYE FOR AN EYE
BUT SOMEONE‘S GOT TO DIE
I SAID, WHAT DID I DO?
HE SAID, BOY, YOU KILLED
I SAID, SO DO YOU
HE SAID, BOY, I’M SKILLED. I SAID
HANGMAN, HANGMAN, HANG IN LOOSE
I…

Photographer Sweetheart by Jest Magdaleno Romanillos

I want to have a photographer sweetheart.
I want her to have me photographed
Every single time i smile,
So i will have the memories of my life.
Also when I’m sad,
So that i can laugh at the bitterness on my face
When I’m already fine.
Or any shots she will like
As long as it is me,
For the sake of my own vanity,
The vanity I don’t have the courage to express
Because I am shy and does care
About the opinions and criticisms of the society.
And I know she’ll be there taking photographs
Because she won’t judge me.
She will love every piece of me;
My picture and my vanity,
For the first time I will feel
That someone supports me,
That I deserve to be in history,
That the world needs to know me,
And the…
