Read Poem: About Her, by Lawrence Mathebula

Days in my thinking place, thee I saw
only
Faces of her;she stays than I do in me.
How long’s the day? The hours, slowly
seep!
How long the night? I struggle, to fall
asleep!
It’s more yourself, it occurs,
Thy countenance here recurs;
Thy spell prolongs, while beauty’s own
bold
Hands are a charm, as thee attracting,
holds
Thy fruit fertile and witchery full in her
Blood running warm today, the single
heir.
Thy parents life is seen;here thee are,
Full another one has yet, to pop a
flower.
Thy flowers to come, days in their
thinking place,
Those men shall too, dream of them in
their, days!

Still lifting, toiling ever a
sound beating
Awake you’re on, even when
I am sleeping
Tonight in darkness, still in
the light I awake
For all the breath’s full and
half intake
Of sips and sighs a spell,
‘Gainst death a stride excels
In the morning, early dawn
Again, sun’s fire on
Horizon stand a half
Till full fire’s enough,
Warmth’s given to my heart’s
Life beloved ever a part
Of me is found in thee,
That new hour I should see!

They frown a lot and say, you don’t
belong
But days with them my God here still prolongs;
Each beat the swift pulse in it, fire flies
‘Gainst throngs that wind louder that,
I should die
One happyless, unfortunate human
being
Passed by the best a daily hour fleeting.

Look at myself; his shadow by him is
nigh,
I walk, it’s seen, in heaven above the
skies,
My choiristers known that I’m inspiring
kings.
Pace forth a stallion stride for the living
Need days the next, and thee, should
carry on
Leaving behind, all a heap of years gone
To sleep while here, days unto them I
step
Close to begin; and ending my last lap.

In a safe place,
Where I want to be
Living my happy days
Surrounded by family;

A multitude of hands,
Oh the daily
Hours until the end
Passes and tomorrow early,

When it begins again.

She only needs a Man.
Is she a woman enough
Grown up;will never turn,
When I need her nigh to love

Unto my crying soul?
Children, in that too
Them counted oh a whole
Lot of us, even you.

In a safe place
Accepted;undenied
Her love’s struck pulse solace,
Me ‘gainst the storm and tide,

When it begins again.

I only need a woman,
A lovely careful mother
Behind created plans.
I’ll follow it as a father

Tolerating, getting older.

Read Poem: Mannaz, by Lawrence Mathebula

Your only days, and nights to live,
On earth thy heart to theirs, you may give
Love to all earthly creatures;
From brothers to thy sisters,
Too they sooner should return;
It’s one cycle changing, turns
With time and days, swiftly, we
Shan’t disband humanity
But throngs and unions gather
Around the world and further
In foreign places, the near
In foreign ones over there,
Is the other souls, similar,
The body that which you are.

Inspired by the runestone: Mannaz.
