1) What is your very short story about?

My story is about a future where the near-cosmos have all been explored, so humanity unwisely sets its sights on the sun.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

I’m a huge fan of twitter and I thought the opportunity to write an 140 character story was simply a brilliant one.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Either Clerks, directed by Kevin Smith, or Night On Earth, directed by Jim Jarmusch.

4) How many scripts and stories have you written?

I have written three short film scripts, one of which has been performed live. I’ve also wrote a fair few short stories as well as having longer stories and scripts that are ongoing work.

1. What is your very short story about?

This is a man’s decision to discover more himself, before he dies, by discovering what’s real in his own country.

2. What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

It is the log line for a script I have written that has been put into the first person.

3. What movie have you seen the most in your life?

Wow, good question, I have seen many films many times because I have kids who have the capacity to see a story play out, over and over and retain the capacity to be surprised but for the absolute most it would have to be Holes, the debut film by Shia LaBouf. It’s actually very good, even if it is a Disney.

It is about a palm tree silhouetted against a beautiful sunset.

I liked the idea of telling a story in just a few words.

1) What is your very short story about?

It is actually an excerpt from my feature length Romantic Comedy Kevin the Loser. The protagonist , Kevin, is a loser in life, but hopes to be a winner in love.

2)What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

I was motivated to write this story to show that we all have a vulnerable side when it comes to love. I submitted this story to the contest in hopes of getting exposure and ultimately having my screenplay sold and produced.

3)What movie have you seen the most in your life?

I have seen Beaches and Five Heartbeats an equally insane amount of times.

1) What is your very short story about?

The story is about the juxtaposition between love and loss, life and death, hope and fear.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

Being limited on word count, was very exciting. Each word had to count and carry an overall meaning. I submitted it to the festival in the hope that I would be able to see it turned into a short film, and to get feedback.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

The movie I have watched most in my life is The Di Vinci Code

I have written 4 scripts for a ‘Most Haunted’ type programme

Get to know writer Lucas Ruderman:

1) What is your very short story about?

My very short story is about a middle-aged man who has absolutely had it with these prank calls. He gets the old “Is your refrigerator running?” and the little kids laughing trying to remain serious. Fed up with the constant annoyance, he immediately answers his next call with an angry greeting. This is followed by several curses and crude phrases. He is satisfied with his outburst until he hears the frightened and scarred sounding tone of his mother’s voice. This of course is followed by a lecture about how he was raised much better than he had portrayed.
