Why?, Poetry by David Mayall

Genre: Angry

Mournful thoughts I ask you why,
The day,
The night,
The morning sky.

Sorrowful sigh continue on,
Our world,
Our life,
Our morning sun.

Words spoken, silent,
Abrupt,
Spitting sound,
Anger raised,
Hurt,
Profound.

But why?
Why? The question
It’s what I ask,
Such rage builds,
Boiled,
Vehement,
Mask.

A passion,
A pride,

Of embarrassed truth,
Twisted mind,
The hardened proof.

Emotion bled,
Scourged its soul,
Tortured hatred,
Plagued turmoil.

These the things,
Off narrowed path,
Your guidance,
Keeps,
In silent wrath.

And yes,
I do,
I make mistakes,
Without your guide,
Forgiveness breaks.

Even time,
It Heals,
It’s hurtful,
Sigh,
Of mournful thoughts,
When asking,

Why?

Gone, Poetry by Heather Bryant

 Genre: Loss, Death

She was gone with it, we say, as With a pregnancy–she is gone,
A nurse might say, as when my

Mother died–she was gone, as in
Someone went on a trip, she left,
As in she departed from a marriage,

She’s gone, I texted my children,
As I lay beside my mother’s still
Warm body, cradling the love left.

Still Thoughts, Poetry by Jade Cecilia Macauley

They float around
the passages of my mind
searching for a place
they won’t find

I do not govern them
I let them roam free
discovering everything
inside of me
without knowing
they’ll never find an outlet
but they are not lost
they’re impossible to forget

though to my tongue
they will always be unmet.

– by Jade Cecilia Macauley

Genre: contemplation, silence and the power of the mind.

It Is I, Poetry by Daniel Franco

 Genre: Rhyme, Relationship, Love, Romance

I’m not falling for that again
This time I’ll abstain
I don’t feel anymore pain
Only the memories remain

I’m searching for a word to say
I want to be discovered
I’ll keep doing it day by day
Even if it’s still covered

As I become intoxicated
This night is dreaded
By the sound I’m fascinated
And to the bottom I’m headed

No more counting dots
That time is over
Now it’s a new plot
I’m no longer a loner

The fire burns with rage
Consuming all with age
The smoke enters the cage
As some ink fills the page

Behind bars I await
Expecting someone late
Hurry up, you can’t waste
The time meant to create

All is right
The sky is bright
I won’t write
For it is night

It is I, Lucyo of the abstract mind.

The Journey Home, Poetry by Tyson Cantrell

 Genre: Rhyme, Relationship

Have thy lips forgotten their journey home?
Their expedition makes the arbor blush;
A tread uncertain, for the lone to roam,
And one too heady for the learn’d to rush.

They do stray from reason, with passion straight;
Though ne’er removed from the artisan’s fear;
But mark their path with Aphrodite’s gait;
A perilous voyage for lovers’ near.

Must they insist traversing the unknown?
Might they pause, and harbor heaven divine?

I shall stop thy pilgrimage with mine own;
Two weary travelers that long for rest,
Open thy crimson gates, and welcome them;
No sweeter neighbor has e’re been thy guest.

The Face of God, Poetry by Deborah Johnson

11167408_10200662489000152_1017806099_o - Copy

Everywhere I look I’m searching for His face

His glory revealed in each and every place.

I see Him in the sunset, the colors of heaven floating by

Even in the darkness and stars shining from on high.

His design is all around me from the inside of a flower                                           June15 sunsets 009

To lightning striking across the sky revealing His almighty power.

Unbelievable patterns and pigments in the tiniest of bugs and frogs,

Infinite varieties in flowers, trees, cats, and dogs.

Embellished birds spread their majestic wings and fly

Over the rainbow and into the sky.

Multitudes of beauty if we but could see

Hidden miracles invisible to you and to me.

In our bodies, cells, and being

Scientists have wound up seeing.

Cells shaped like a cross holding all others in place

Surely in my searching, I have seen God’s beautiful face.

But my heart will go on searching until that glorious day

When I reach the shores of heaven and then I’ll be able to say,

After all the searching on every path I’ve trod

Today I’ve found Him in my heart and see the face of God.

” For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.”  AKJV Romans 1:20

I rise, Poetry by Amber Agha

Genre: Relationship

There are men who will steal your light
They trick you and break you
They take you and bring you to your knees
where they want you
There are men who get you to hate all you are
There are men who get you to lose yourself so much
That death seems the only way to re gain self

I dont hate these men
Thats the plan of the darkness
I dont want revenge and dont say all men are like this
I wont close my heart and shut down
I shall rise again
I shall fly again
I shall soar high
I shall reclaim all I am
I shall sing loud and bright
And celebrate the huge heart in me
That saw the signs
Knew this would hurt
but still jumped in
Not because Im weak or stupid
Not because I didnt have a choice
I had plenty of options
But because I believed in you
In your soul to rise above the temptation to play the templates of the past
Because my heart knew I could withstand this and would come out more alive
That to die again and again
Makes me immortal
Your crash and burn
Made me immortal
I rise and rise and nothing shall ever bring me down again
Where will you be when I rise this high?
You missed out on seeing me this fly
You missed out on the magic to come
And I dont pity you I dont hate you
I feel for your heart too scared to love a woman like me
But I will still love you from up here
I still love you
I have that much in me I can die and be broken come alive and still love you
Do you see what you had and let go of?
Shame for you

Contrast, Poetry by Tim Wilkinson

Genre: Rhyme, Life

Light’s defined by shades of gray
Night itself by day

Dusk by citrus skies arrayed
Dawn by gloom and fray

So what is love if not a heart
Awaiting, come what may

The thrust and pang, the anguished
Strain, of one who’s gone away

HER CATASTROPHE, Poetry by Rachel O

 Genre: RACE, LOVE, INTERRACIAL ROMANCE

Her catastrophe will lead you to ecstasy

Her Pain will teach you empathy

Her sorrows drain your sympathy

While her strength will challenge you structurally…..

Her caress will linger with your distress…..

have you begging for her to undress,

All, as her eloquence clenches to your very chest

Whilst you strive for that bounty we call his breast…….

She gazes at us all and requests

a simple retrieve,

from the bundles and loads and cosomos she holds

However, rarely seeking the latrine

Life’s Salient Saline…

Ever Silent as a stone, We a mixed bag of souls, as she boldy holds the bones of your erroded domes…..

And her breath will cast your energy……..

But will you recall at her eulogy?

Logged in you minds etymology?

Her androgynous antiquity?

Her grace spun like tapestry?

I quarry, will you even remember me?
