FOR YOU I FEEL
by Jessica Herr

When I see your eyes I see the stars twinkle at night
When I hear your voice it gives my soul a delight
When I think of our closeness it gives my soul a rush
My feelings when we’re together is something no humans can touch
Deep deep inside my love for you has grown stronger
I want our time together to last a little longer
My fondness my feelings for you so strong so true
Especially when you thanked me for being me I knew our love has been proved
I would walk through fire for you to make your life right
Sword down demons so you have no difficulties getting through the night
Tear down your walls of impossible chances
Let you breathe easy while life gives you many dances
Someone like you is so special and true
Hard to recognize but destiny led me to you
One in a million like a diamond so rare
Only for you forever and always will my heart care.

Deed To Paradise, Love Poetry by Derek Stephen McPhail

SHARING THE DEED TO PARADISE

BONE OF MY BONE, FLESH OF MY FLESH

Deed To Paradise
by Derek Stephen McPhail

VERSE 1

WITH YOU I HAD EVERYTHING

SHARING THE DEED TO PARADISE

BONE OF MY BONE, FLESH OF MY FLESH

THROUGH THE POWER OF LOVE

WE WERE BLESSED ONES

SHARING THE DEED TO PARADISE…

CHORUS

THINK I KNOW WHAT LOVE IS

LOVE HAS GIVEN ME STRENGTH

THINK I KNOW WHAT LOVE IS

LOVE HAS GIVEN ME HOPE

THINK I KNOW WHAT LOVE IS

THE DEED TO PARADISE…

VERSE 2

PLAYED A TRICK ON MY SELF

LOSING THE DEED TO PARADISE

TEMPTED BY FORBIDDEN FRUIT

SQUANDERED OUR PRECIOUS LOVE

LOSING MY FAITH, NAKED AND ASHAMED

LOSING THE DEED TO PARADISE…

REPEAT CHORUS

I RECEIVED MY JUST REWARD

FINDING THE DEED TO PARADISE…

TAUGHT ME I WAS NOT ALONE

FORGIVING OTHERS, I FORGAVE MYSELF

WE ARE BLESSED ONES

FINDING THE DEED TO PARADISE…

Assignations of the Heart, Love Poetry by Fayton Hollington

For lack of gumption, and all the assumptions, this needs to be kicked into gear.
Until that time, I’ll gaze upon and cherish thee, with all my love through eternity. … As day gives way to night, it’s in my dreams you’ll remain in sight.

Assignations of the Heart
by Fayton Hollington

Rhythms of the heart beat I adore…. The touch, the sounds, the sights of which some day might be no more.

For lack of gumption, and all the assumptions, this needs to be kicked into gear.
Until that time, I’ll gaze upon and cherish thee, with all my love through eternity. … As day gives way to night, it’s in my dreams you’ll remain in sight.

The pulsation’s, the angst, the confusion, the fear, is a direct correlation to wanting you near…

Rhythms of the heart beat, I adore. … Though our destiny is uncertain, my feelings are clear, understanding my plight keeps the feelings in flight.

If there’s ever a concern, regarding this burning I yearn; do not distress, my compulsion to approach is near.

Walking through the empty street I’m feeling all alone, moon and stars guide me to a place that strikes unknown. I hear my footsteps clearly as they echo in my head, but didn’t see a single soul; I swore the streets were dead. …

I’m wandering lonely, feeling it hard, but I’m too frightened to relax my guard. … You possessed my thoughts, always on my mind, the one in my dreams I never thought I’d find. …

Around the next bend with no warning at all, as soon as I saw you I started to fall. I closed my eyes tight and started to run, until I had to admit my emotions had won.
You walked into my life, and right into my heart, but why didn’t I tell you, and now where do I start. …

With you on my mind; inducing suspension of time, I beg you for a moment to prepare. …

The time has come to be honorable and true with regards to my feelings for you. … The nerves, the fears, the anticipation the tears; are the reasons I need this to be clear. …

Emotionally, I was lost but now I’m found, though the price I’ll pay is high. …

You gave me your heart, and I tore it apart, with my selfishness and greed.

You gave me the chance to right my wrong, I’ve attempted through words, and attempted through song, but this cannot possibly go on. …

Denying your love and compassion, tenderness and satisfaction, undoubtedly, is the cause of this action. …

I’m setting you free from your attachment to me to ascertain my own self-worth. …

I’ll wander alone for the right type of tone to set my soul at ease. …

I’ll gather my feelings, my thoughts and my sorrows, but for now; there can be no tomorrow. …

If only for a moment, if only for a day; I could have loved you the right way.

If only…

Journey from Hell to Eden, Love Poetry by Colin Guest

From bombs and war I had left my home in search of a safe and better life

But little did I know that on the way I would meet the woman of my dreams

Part of the 2016 LOVE Poetry Festival.

Journey from Hell to Eden
by Colin Guest

From bombs and war I had left my home in search of a safe and better life

But little did I know that on the way I would meet the woman of my dreams

Since all jammed together on a rubber boat and seeing your frightened look

I knew I had to try to keep you safe from harm as we set off across the sea

With your long black windswept hair and eyes flashing like globes of light

It made me forget all about the dangerous crossing we were all then making

No longer did I think of death, but about a chance of our living in paradise

If we could but survive and reach the shore, I knew we would be together

The seas were rough, our journey fraught with danger throughout the night

At times I thought we would not survive the treacherous crossing and drown

But at last we reached the shore, where I held your hand and helped you off

On finding you were all alone with no friends or family to accompany you

I told you not to worry, I would protect and keep you safe from harms way

You nodded and understood I spoke the truth, then took my offered hand

Our journey then was hard to bear with hardship seeming endless everyday

We tramped for many long and weary miles with very little food and water

But no matter which country we passed through, no one wanted us to stay

From sunny days to nights spent huddled together with rain pouring down.

We comforted each other and prayed we would succeed in the end and live

Along with many other immigrants we trudged through fields deep in mud

You became so tired one day, you slipped from my grasp and fell to the ground

As I went to help you stand, the look of despair in your eyes made me feel sad

Once on your feet you cried, shaking in fright with legs aching from the strain

I held you close and told you not to cry, then supporting you, we carried on

After struggling on and coming to a small stream, we stopped to rest and drink

But although cold wet and hungry, we had no other choice but to keep on moving

At times, while passing through villages, a few people handed us food and drink

However, these times were few, with our continually hungry as we journeyed on

After countless long and seeming endless miles, we reached a friendly frontier

As we passed through, I kissed and held you tight, and thought about our future

We were lucky to find friends who managed to find us work and a place to live

Although at first our life was hard, together we did our best to make it a good one

Since then our love has grown ever stronger with smiles replacing looks of terror

Despite it hard to forget how difficult life once was, those days have now all gone

No more do we have to dodge bullets and bombs, for now we’re safe and sound

I bless the time we rode the boat together, for you have made my life complete

Now we are married and it safe to go outside, we feel ourselves living in paradise

Each time we walk along hand in hand, joy is in our hearts with love in our eyes

BEST MUSE, Poetry by Lilian C Misoy

So many notes written,
About a muse unforgotten ,
Both beautiful and dark,
Most so deep, enough to leave a mark,

Genre: Love

Best Muse

So many notes written,
About a muse unforgotten ,
Both beautiful and dark,
Most so deep, enough to leave a mark,

Yet,
He still writes about her,
His angel ,so close yet so far,
He might at times change his flow,
Finding another beau to adore,

But still she remains,
His favourite tale even in chains,
For she may be locked away,
In his vault all year every day,

But,
In his mind alive she will remain,
A love he might have loved in vain,
And always she’s his main,
Breathing , living ,keeping him sane.

Masochists
by Kyle Jones

Your masters,
sick;
masochists.
Savages wrapped
in lavish masks,
the past unraveled it.
We’ve traveled
backwards,
cataract contact,
laughs with
con-act actors.
Intact cause our dad’s
dads were bastards.
We backtracked paths
and sat on past answers.
Planned for the damned
and we laughed at disaster.

The scent and sound of your beautiful soul
by Gordana Frgačić

Today
I was woken up
By the scent
Of your soul
You weren’t even near me
But I inhaled you
Through every pore
Of my skin
I floated
For a while
On the soft layers
Of your beautiful soul
Suddenly
I smiled
And I knew
Your soul just started to sing

Genius In Me, Poetry by Thato Pricey Ratlotlong

I intend to reach the universe without losing my soul

I’m the Great Grandson of the Forefathers

Like those four sons who were left by their four fathers

I will claim & protect my birth right

From the East to the West, its dawn then comes night

Genre: Rhyme, History, Identity

Genius In Me

I intend to reach the universe without losing my soul

I’m the Great Grandson of the Forefathers

Like those four sons who were left by their four fathers

I will claim & protect my birth right

From the East to the West, its dawn then comes night

The soil keeps the flash of those before us

We can’t all speak the so called universal language

Its jewel that brightens up our Africa

Before the sun came to pass.

Trust in your native self, and write the next page

We are caged, by our thoughts

We are lost! We can’t see the Genius in Us

Their tombs are engraved the words that fought

Our weakness

The Pyramids sculptured that which is taught

Our inventions

Fallen Kings, still cry for their kingdoms

They never trusted the Genius in Us

Tremor shook, we stood

Unveiling the thoughts we never understood

Encrypt the codes of poverty

Decode the codes of poetry

Revising the education Africa taught

Regain the genius you lost

I Am the Great Grandson of our Forefathers,

Genes of their Nature is with Me,

I Am the fruit birthed by our Godly Mothers

I have their Genius In Me
