War In Between The Two, Poetry by Demarco Singleton

Genre: Love, Romantic, Life, Rhyme
War In Between The Two by Demarco Singleton

Stuck in between the two and having no clue what to do.
You ask yourself, is it worth it? Is it worth breaking a heart that has such great purpose?
Yet you find the distraction growing even greater but you feel you should tend to that later,
but in reality you have to take action now.
You have to break down, crazy as it may sound but it’s the truth.
Listen to your heart and mind and analyze what you need to do. Yes it may be hard but now
the outcome is up to you.
Sit down and think.
You’ve created something great and something that you potentially hate has come into your
life and has filled your mind with things that are way beyond your trait.
So your mind begins to race and your heart beats in an inconsistent pace that’s when you’ve
grown to have doubts, now your mind and heart is in an unwanted place.
Take a deep breath and balance out the situation.
You realize lust has started a war and you’ve been exposed with no ammo. You know you
have to fight back, so you suit up your love with some camos
A day without your love is a day without air, lust is such a competitor but there’s no way it can
compare.
With that realization, love defeats lust with no problem. If you can strengthen your love then
problems, you’ll never have them.
Grow in your love and fight for what it’s worth, cause lust is an obstacle but with love it has
no birth.

Beaten Path. Poetry by Naseha

Song on my lips, dust on my boots, and dark night around me I take a moment;
A moment to look around as I travel the worlds unknown.
My Arabian horse – Lester, smiles at me in the light on the lantern, we are lost again
In the dense of the mossy thick forest, echoing with wing’s drone.

Song on my lips, dust on my boots, and dark night around me I take a moment;
A moment to look around as I travel the worlds unknown.
My Arabian horse – Lester, smiles at me in the light on the lantern, we are lost again
In the dense of the mossy thick forest, echoing with wing’s drone.

The yellow parchment of my dog eared tanned leather bounded sweaty dairy;
Which I so lovely call my logs, is eagerly waiting for my ink and quill
The stars speak, the midnight has passed, I pack away the day,
As I decrease the flame, from my mouth, see the creeping wet chill

Lester is snoring; peaceful with the mossy air of forgotten foggy forest trail
After a month and half in desolated the parched land of dust
The spirit in me, forces me out of my cozy cottage filled with aroma of mushroom
To take on the paths not known, under star, sun, or fog, walk I must

Lester, my trench coat, my log, my quill as my companion, I travel to embrace
The mist of the height, the thirst of stark, the lead of unseen brook
The tame of terrain wild, the serenity of the rushing gale, warmth breath of trees
Old, knotty, patchy, all safely, frozen for eternity, in pages of my book

Off the beaten path, away from comfort of known souls, under the Canopus
On creaking, dry mattress of a thousand yellow, green, and red
Occasional ease of the stained bedding in a lonely Inn on a highway, lit by single lantern
I give in to the insanity in me, to find, to seek, on virgin gravels to tread

I close my eyes as I walk, to lose the known paths, in getting lost in terra incognita
Only then can I chance upon inebriation of charting the chartless in rife
Maybe with few silver coins in the pocket, no mansion to pass on, but richer by far
Lived a million lives with each unsung path, I chart in chronicles of my roving life

Play House. Poetry by John “John Kind” Ravenell Jr.

We think we’re grown don’t we?
Holding hands in public because that’s what lovers do,
We think we know how to love,
But inexperience got us not having a single clue,
To be simply put, we are making a poor attempt at being witty,
Trying to pass off what we have as love, yet too naive to know it’s shitty,

Genre: Romantic Irony

Play House
by John “John Kind” Ravenell Jr.

We take relationship advice from what we all call, “other wise”,
You better love me as I say, “other wise” I’m gonna-
Then we spit argue over marble counter tops, trying to buff things out,
No way to try to make it look nice, fights never bring our best side out,
To be simply put, I’m the daddy and she’s the mommy,
We are, who we are, because the roles gives us an organized lifestyle,

All I know is, I just got off from work and mommy you better kiss me,
How was our son? I’m hungry too, what did you get me?
Ah yes, my favorite dish your the best!
And you look especially beautiful for me, and only me, in that sun dress,
And my dearest thinks handsome, she adores me as her hard working man,
To take care of her and secure her is my obligation to her 20 year living plan,

To be simply put, our lives are designed by an idea our parents act out,
We would like to childishly fulfill those roles, but with a plastic door to back out,
Just in case if things take a different pace, becomes too real and less exciting,
But the appeal of love on the internet and reality tv is too inviting,

Who doesn’t play house?

SUBLIME LOVE, Poetry by Bindu Midha

SUBLIME LOVE by Bindu Midha

Love profound, how amorous it sounds!

It’s a radiant sunflower that blossoms to smile.

In love, you’re a lily that sprinkles radiance and light.

Like the gambolling lamb, soars your spirit and mind.

Liveliness, a sparkle -hitherto not seen- come your way.

Contentment, blissful harmony and giddiness make you sway!

A spring in the step, a twinkle in the eye and a glowing face belie

Your complacent demeanour; whilst Cupid you & your beloved ties.

How perfectly, how accurately his arrows find their mark

Your heart is left wounded, but ne’er does it show a scar.

Sighs, whisper of sweet nothings and a pounding heart reverberate

For you embrace, profess undying love and plentiful vows make!

It is mirth and merriment that you flash on your brow

As you strut around nimble footed, feeling sound’ n secure!

Unsatisfied, insatiate, unrestrained, your passion does soar

Fancy takes flight; in the new found treasure you gloat.

You rise to a crescendo, exhilarated and over the moon

Flying, surging and ascending in love as if in a swoon.

A saint reveres his Almighty; so you dote on your love

Worship, take oath of fidelity, and offer solemn vows galore.

Promises of being truthful, reliable, honest and caring

Of sincerity, stability; support and strength are in the making.

Profess undying love and take an oath to be true,

While all this lasts it seems as fresh as dew- oh so new!

Oh love, O divine devotion- so fanciful yet fulfilling,

Could you, would you take flight and dissipate -all too soon?

Head sick for you, Poetry by Andrew James Leahy

All I want is you sweet honey
All you want is my love baby
All I can say and I can pray
Is for us to last a life time

Sick in the head, my point of view
I love you too, head sick for you

Genre: Rhyme, Romance, Love

Head sick for you
by Andrew James Leahy

I’ve came a long way to love you
I’d go beyond just for us two
I’m in this with you forever
We will always be together

I’ve done all that I can in time
I’d lose my sense and piece of mind
I’m gone inside my broken brain
We can stop from being insane

All I want is you sweet honey
All you want is my love baby
All I can say and I can pray
Is for us to last a life time

Sick in the head, my point of view
I love you too, head sick for you

Our love drives us fucking crazy

Bitter-Sweet, Poetry by Angel Victoria

Genre: Love, Pain, Sad, Romantic, Friendship, Hurt

Bitter-Sweet
by Angel Victoria

Never thought that I’d fall for you
Though I kind of wish that I didn’t knew
Cause I know you won’t ever look my way
And it pains me yet, I still pray
Always thinking of what will I do
Shall I tell you, what I feel for you?

Never will I forget those moments we had
Those little memories with you isn’t so bad
Cause whem I’m with you every second counts
Just like those moments that are unforgettable one’s.

You make my day full of surprises
Like a roller coaster that falls and rises
And just like every ride has its own ending
So, this time maybe I should stop hoping.

This would be the last time, I’ll think of you
As I wrote this poem for you
I would like to say those three words to you
Hope they would reach you, I Love You.

Pieces Of You, Poetry by Hansteven Selfa

Pieces Of You
by Hansteven Selfa

I find pieces of you in distorted cosmic dusts
In falling stars, I see your name so bright
You are the street signs, whenever I am lost
When you’re here, everything feels so right.

I figure you in a notional painting
Discover you between the pages of my book
In a quandary, you are the silver lining
I find pieces of you wherever I look.

You are the star I vision in the sky
And you’re also the yellow in the rainbow I see
You are the eagle I find up high
You are everywhere I’ll be.

12 Questions for my Soul Mate, Poetry by Hussein Hill

Genre: Love, Romance

12 Questions for my Soul Mate
by Hussein Hill

Who were you on the worst day of your life?
Who is the person I need to be to make you my wife?

What is your darkest fear?
What are the words your soul longs to hear?

When was the last time you cried tears of joy?
When will you make me your man or will I forever be your boy toy?

Where is the erogenous zone of your mind?
Where do you hide the pass code to your heart, my heart needs to find?

How can two strangers meet, then grow to love to the point their souls intertwine?
How can I arise like a Phoenix, so I might love you for another lifetime?

Why does God honor us to share this time and space?
Why is it when you hold me I am transported to a womb like place?

Broken, Poetry by Sebastian Saavedra

You lit up the day

Broken
by Sebastian Saavedra

You lit up the day
You knew what to say
But eventually you started to fade
You lit up the room
When it was filled with gloom
But everyday, you showed more shade
And when you broke, it became night
And the room became dark
You ended up losing, your optimistic spark

Valentine’s Day Poem, Poetry by Elizabeth Miller

I used to make valentines for everyone I knew,

clumsily cutting construction paper hearts

I don’t remember exactly when I stopped making them.

Genres: love, nostalgia, relationships, romantic

“Valentine’s Day Poem”

by Elizabeth Miller

Pale pinks and lavenders

Glitter pens and stumpy Crayola markers

I used to make valentines for everyone I knew,

clumsily cutting construction paper hearts

I don’t remember exactly when I stopped making them.

You get a clumsily-cut poem instead,

a side effect of growing up

I could never cut you a heart from paper

and fill it with gaudy glitter glue

or scallop the edges with specialty scissors

I could never because

I can’t bear the thought of anything resembling scissors

nearing anything resembling your heart

I could never

So I cut you poems instead,

embellished with words instead of sparkles

I could write them with Crayola markers

if you’d like
