Lioness by Saturn Sunset
You are a novelty.
A mend in a broken bridge.
You are a tale of trial.
the freight train come unhinged.
You are the candle in the wind
the one they long to snuff.
You are the deck shuffled and new
no one calls your bluff.
You are the sun and the heat it brings
the silhouette above the trees.
You are the gold hidden in the sea
you are the moon and the stars on galaxy string.
You are the breeze
a longtime cherished philosophy amidst the brambles.
You are the Jack of all trades
through the runes your existence will forever ramble.
Your eyes are cosmic spheres
it is a wonder how you are here
and your wings are still translucent
when they see your power, you’ll have to prove it.
You have the clouds in your hands
feather for the next big cross.
You have the scripture in your flesh
guiding the ages lost.
Walk on water
spine the towers on their axis’
like no other
for no simple good-man praises.
You are the window
to the world we wished to know.
You are the only act
the prelude, main, and epilogue in the grandest show.

SUBLIME LOVE, Poetry by Bindu Midha

SUBLIME LOVE by Bindu Midha

Love profound, how amorous it sounds!

It’s a radiant sunflower that blossoms to smile.

In love, you’re a lily that sprinkles radiance and light.

Like the gambolling lamb, soars your spirit and mind.

Liveliness, a sparkle -hitherto not seen- come your way.

Contentment, blissful harmony and giddiness make you sway!

A spring in the step, a twinkle in the eye and a glowing face belie

Your complacent demeanour; whilst Cupid you & your beloved ties.

How perfectly, how accurately his arrows find their mark

Your heart is left wounded, but ne’er does it show a scar.

Sighs, whisper of sweet nothings and a pounding heart reverberate

For you embrace, profess undying love and plentiful vows make!

It is mirth and merriment that you flash on your brow

As you strut around nimble footed, feeling sound’ n secure!

Unsatisfied, insatiate, unrestrained, your passion does soar

Fancy takes flight; in the new found treasure you gloat.

You rise to a crescendo, exhilarated and over the moon

Flying, surging and ascending in love as if in a swoon.

A saint reveres his Almighty; so you dote on your love

Worship, take oath of fidelity, and offer solemn vows galore.

Promises of being truthful, reliable, honest and caring

Of sincerity, stability; support and strength are in the making.

Profess undying love and take an oath to be true,

While all this lasts it seems as fresh as dew- oh so new!

Oh love, O divine devotion- so fanciful yet fulfilling,

Could you, would you take flight and dissipate -all too soon?

FEAR, Poetry by Marcell Wallace a.k.a Poetikal Solution

There you are,
a photo of you smiling.
But now, here’s a mirror of you sad.
I can tell something stole your joy
and you want to go back to that photo smiling
Instead looking in the mirror sad.
You just want to be normal again.
I sense that you are afraid.

FEAR by Marcell Wallace
a.k.a Poetikal Solution

There you are,
a photo of you smiling.
But now, here’s a mirror of you sad.
I can tell something stole your joy
and you want to go back to that photo smiling
Instead looking in the mirror sad.
You just want to be normal again.
I sense that you are afraid.
Too busy putting your trust in fear or your fear in trust.
The fear of the unknown that is known is still fear,
One only hopes when it’s near,
They courage it up to get a backbone,
So they won’t be consumed in their nightmare.
There’s a war going on,
Outside there’s peace and protection.
Inside, you are a living breathing storm with radar palms
pulse like earthquake
Nerve shaking anxiety
No peace in between touchdowns
I seen you spot a tornado before the funnel forms with those hurricane eyes
Hail size tears
Your destructive behavior
Is bringing your strength down,
Self-control it Or it will control you.
You just want to go back to that photo smiling
Instead a mirror sad.
I’ll be glad to have you back,
That, every in half moon, full moon, new moon laugh.
That, calm before and after the storm,
Your, cloudy sun rays that shine on my rainy days.
That makes me thankful to be alive.
I too want you to be normal again
But it’s your civil war you must end.
It have to be in your heart to no fly zone your climate change.
Cease fire your mouth from shooting down your ability to overcome.
The storms will only grow violently worse as time goes on.
He who is always watching the wind does not sow;
he who always keeps his eyes on the clouds will not reap.
Hold fast my love
You can do it
Peace

Wishful Thinking, Poetry by Norma Passarell

It took me thirty years of suff’ring mourn, oh dear!,
To tame the fiercest beast, my dreaded loneliness.
A lifetime of gregarious wildness ’twas indeed.
I was drunk every single night; there was no light.

Wishful Thinking
by Norma Passarell

It took me thirty years of suff’ring mourn, oh dear!,
To tame the fiercest beast, my dreaded loneliness.
A lifetime of gregarious wildness ’twas indeed.
I was drunk every single night; there was no light.

With time, I learnt to be in my own company.
I then saw you and in a whisper thought, to me,
I swear, you had the bluest eyes I’ve ever seen.
Hence you became my greatly loved Glaswegian prince.

Incertitude lifted me towards the sky, couldn’t sleep at night,
Then daydreamt ’bout how’d it be you kissing me throughout.
I asked you out. You said: “Why not?” But soon I knew
All was a figment of my brimful fantasy.

How ignorant I’d been! How couldn’t I see that you
Were not interested in me?! Now that you are gone,
You left me wondering how I will be alone.
Again, but even older, rejected I have been.

For now, I’ll loathe your accent on every mouth,
Even though I know it isn’t you to blame, but me,
For being too naive, and having forced you to love me.
Go away! Go away! With time, I’ll be okay!

Lose Generation, Poetry by Roderick Dupree

Relationships are just toys we play with when bored

Support for one another is something unexplored.

Loyalty is just a word with negative intentions of slaving

Lose Generation by Roderick Dupree

Relationships are just toys we play with when bored

Support for one another is something unexplored.

Loyalty is just a word with negative intentions of slaving

Envy is our sweetest nature of craving.

Love is our worst nightmare

Hate is our definition of care.

Sex has poised our mind

Faith is undefined.

Attention is the fire to our soul

Negativity is fuel to help reach the popularity goal.

Respect is what we neglect

Warm souls are what we reject.

Death brings love

Selling our souls are what we’re proud of.

A Soul less Existence, Poetry by Barbara Hunt

Left alone in the darkness of solitude trapped in her mind cold and desperate scratching around for escape things becoming tragic as all hope was lost in the depths of the void

A Soul less Existence by Barbara Hunt

Left alone in the darkness of solitude trapped in her mind cold and desperate scratching around for escape things becoming tragic as all hope was lost in the depths of the void
A mask covered her face as she was being betrayed and manipulated by someone she loved so dearly
A witch with a disguise of compassion and love looked back an evil grin plaguing her face
The evil seeped down turning into tentacles as an evil laugh erupted from her lungs as she smelled pure terror
Capturing her the darkness licked at her heels casting away all hope and love slowly leaving behind a shell of who she once was
As she took her last breath her pure soul stolen she warned the people she loved of its true colors and closed her eyes embraced by the warmth of peace

I might sit down and light a whole spliff, my handwriting like I’m writing old scripts with a quill or ink pen

Genre: Hip Hop/Rap Lyrics, Dark, Thoughtful

Vntitlxd by Xzaviar Allen

I might sit down and light a whole spliff, my handwriting like I’m writing old scripts with a quill or ink pen, let the marijuana sink in until I tip off the deep end, fuck it I’ve been drinking all weekend, I usually keep the same routine- it’s all sequenced, I just wanna have some sunshine bleed through all seasons, when it’s dark out I make my own-caught in the rain tryna make it home in time to write an ancient poem on my favorite phone, living life in the danger zone- all straps and no archers, the gods of rap so heartless, lord send me a pen so I can write for once, looking for dawn to fight the dusk- I’m bout to Tyson up, lighten up- it’s another day in the jungle, another day I will run through life wondering what my days will come to, but staying humble- in the back ground I laugh now, among prostitutes alcohol and crack vials.

THE HEARTLESS AND THE HOMELESS – Poetry Reading by Carlyn Soulei Thomas

Watch a June 2016 Poetry Performance Reading.

THE HEARTLESS AND THE HOMELESS by Carlyn Soulei Thomas

Performed by Marsha Mason

7 questions with the poet:

1) What is the theme of your poem?

The theme of my poem is the lack of compassion people have one for another.

2) How would you like people to respond when they read or watch your poetry reading?

When people read my poem or watch my poetry reading, I’d like for them to honestly survey themselves, and ask the question, “Am I compassionate?”. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “We must be the change we wish to see in the world.” Kindness is contagious and humility will take you a long way in life.

3) How long have you been writing poetry?

I’ve been writing poems since 2001. Writing poems became another way for me to express my feelings.

4) Do you have a favorite poet?

My favorite poet and author is Maya Angelou. I call myself “Young Maya” at times, because her works has truly inspires and encourages me to keep reaching for the stars, which without a doubt makes her a mother to many daughters, though she birthed none. Each line of one of my personal favorites, “Letter To My Daughter”, felt as though they were written just for me. She was phenomenal and I only wish to be as inspiring as she was, even if just a little bit.

5) What influenced you to submit to WILDsound and have your poetry performed by a professional actor?

There’s so much going wrong in the world, and so many, including children are suffering, but most of us are busy with our own lives to care. I jumped at the opportunity to submit my poem in hopes that it would make others think about it too, just as I have thought about it. And prayerfully, it would change someone’s mind for the betterment of this world and everyone living in it.

6) Do you write other works? scripts? Short Stories? Etc..?

I am also a Singer-Songwriter and Designer. I write short stories and I am currently working on a poetry book and novel.

7) What is your passion in life?

Apart from music and art, my passion is helping others, especially those less fortunate than myself.
