Lips of Honey, Poetry by Efrain Nieves Jr.

I smell the taste of honey,

precluding argumentation of abstract feelings

yet I still find the words

the soul holds no boundaries to what it can hide

Lips of Honey by Efrain Nieves Jr.

I smell the taste of honey,

precluding argumentation of abstract feelings

yet I still find the words

the soul holds no boundaries to what it can hide

and eventually reveal.

Hope is all we have.

conceptualizing the strength of an embrace

a timeless longing

extracting the universe we created

from our perception.

Like a dying moment

Slipping from the essence of consciousness

A dull sky, grey and lifeless

as the setting of bittercold fills my heart.

In dire need of your touch,

frantically gasping,

as with every breath

failing to remember your scent

A silent numbness overwhelms.

extracting the universe we created

from our perception

Like a fire engulfing a memory

burying the laughs and cries

beneath the rage of flames

immortally wounding,

all that I crave to feel.

I smell the taste of your honey

on my lips,

your kiss.

There it is, lurking, the past

Comes smooth, quietly

And dump over them, as a wave

The damned nostalgia

Streets that run in parallel

But never find exit

Poetry by Fernanda Wilt

There it is, lurking, the past

Comes smooth, quietly

And dump over them, as a wave

The damned nostalgia

Streets that run in parallel

But never find exit

In the present what are they waiting for?

The world to go around

And to overturn your ways

So your patches will meet again

Spin world, the pivot, as it says a song

Spin, faster, hurry up

Pass the time, torment

And put them again in the right patch

In the past, wasted, nothing was build

And in the future, dreamed, is where they look for haven

There it is, gloomy, the past

Remembering the delayed present

Delaying the wanted future

Planting Seeds, Poetry by Abu B. Rafique

Four:
If I told you that I want all of this to be like this thirty years from now,
Would you call me hopeful, or stupid?
Do you think we’ll stay? Or will one of us go?
If I get lost,
I hope to go in a circle,
And wind up back with you.”

Genre: Nostalgia, Wanderlust, Youth, Love, and Melancholy

Planting Seeds by Abu B. Rafique

One:

Sometimes I wonder, if I’m remembering something hard enough, are you remembering it too?

It’s like smoke now, slightly sweet,
And overwhelming,
And enough to make me dizzy if there’s too much.
I saw you in your pale yellow sundress with a tired smile on your face,
And the sun setting around us filled the sky with a pink light that made you shimmer as you walked,
I wished then that I didn’t have to leave anymore.
You and I walked two miles up the dirt road to your home,
And you showed me your grandfather’s apple trees,
You asked where I was going and then told me where you would like to go.
I remember the smell of,
Apples,
Your perfume,
And the candles inside.
You gave me a necklace before I left and you seemed to understand.
I’ve met many since then, but none seem to UNDERSTAND.
I think of you,
Often.

Two:

Where should we go?

Should we go,
North? To Canada?
Or west? To California?
Maybe south? To Georgia?
Should we live up in the mountains?
Out in the desert?
In a lonely cabin?
Does it have to be “we?”
You can stay,
I don’t like me, so I’ll go.
And keep going.
Maybe, eventually, I’ll be able to get away,
Maybe not.
I guess I’ll go,
And find out.

Three:

You sit there in your denim jacket,

And black jeans,
And black boots,
And colorful hairbands on your fingers,
With your hair tied back in a ponytail.
And you want to give a chance,
And get a chance,
And stop pushing away,
Or running away from,
Everyone who tries to love you.

Four:

If I told you that I want all of this to be like this thirty years from now,

Would you call me hopeful, or stupid?
Do you think we’ll stay? Or will one of us go?
If I get lost,
I hope to go in a circle,
And wind up back with you.”

She’s a man, Poetry by Bryan Chan

Unloving and unnurturing,

A woman without a woman’s touch,

Potential mother but then again, not very much

Limited by her ideals, faminism?

No, supremanism

Domination is all she seeks to clutch.

Genre: Love, Heartbreak, Rhyme, Relationship

She’s a man, by Bryan Chan

With trashy ideology and principles,

Her words are bland and hollow,

Mindless substance which have been borrowed.

Unloving and unnurturing,

A woman without a woman’s touch,

Potential mother but then again, not very much

Limited by her ideals, faminism?

No, supremanism

Domination is all she seeks to clutch.

The personality of a wall,

Cold and hard,

not very far from her standards,

white-washed and scrawny,

Crumbling and sickly,

Thinks herself high and mighty,

But in reality,

She is far from great,

The chinese have made far better gates.

She inspires love and passion,

But so do pies,

And cakes,

Not to mention chocolates,

But hers is a poison one cannot negate,

It is mistaken love,

Lest should I think it fate,

She leaves a rush of resentment,

An after taste of hate.

No Question, Poetry by Saintswest

Are the stars in the sky?
Are the birds in the trees?
Is there green on the leaves?
Is the water still blue?
Why do fish swim upstream?
Why does everything
Seem to not mean a thing
When I am with you?

Genre: Love

No Question
by Saintswest

Are the stars in the sky?
Are the birds in the trees?
Is there green on the leaves?
Is the water still blue?
Why do fish swim upstream?
Why does everything
Seem to not mean a thing
When I am with you?

Will the sun rise today?
Will the air smell as sweet?
Can the days be longer?
Could this love be stronger?
Has the rain begun to fall?
Are there people here at all?
Why can’t I see a thing?
Why do I only see you?

Are the stars out tonight?
Is it cloudy?
Is it bright?
I am here with one tonight
And I’ve never been more right
And you love me like I do
And I love you like you do
How could I have ever wondered
Why these eyes see only you?

A Brief Encounter, Poetry by H. Alahmad

It was cloudy

And the thunder was rowdy

Suddenly an angel descended from heaven

And called me at eleven

Genre: Love, Rhyme, Romance

A Brief Encounter by H. Alahmad

It was cloudy

And the thunder was rowdy

Suddenly an angel descended from heaven

And called me at eleven

We met at a place of festivity

I felt I am outside the bounds of gravity

I wanted to fly

High in the sky

She said buy me a lollipop

And take me to a bookshop

If I liked books before

Today I adore them more than my Porsche four by four

Because they will testify that my encounter was real

Although it was surreal

My angel was gorgeous

Like a rose from Damascus

She has beautiful eyelashes

Those convert the heart into ashes

She was so white

And her teeth were so bright

Her voice was like music to my ears

But it brought to my eyes tears

When she said I have to go

It was like the end of the show

I wanted time to freeze

I kept saying please please please

But time had no mercy on me

And refused my plea

Time has a heart made of stone

And refused to give me a loan

All I wanted is one extra minute

But I was unfortunate

The books were crying

And words were dying

When she said bye

And ascended high

I wish I was shot

And buried on that spot

The books will be my coffin

And words will be my next of kin

It was a brief encounter

It was a brief encounter

Your toes curl
You bury your face in the pillow
Whispering I miss you
And his name over and over
Until your voice whimper
Your eyes fill up with tears
For the painful void in your chest reminds you
He’s not with you
You and your own skin are alone
All you have are the images inside your head
And the cinder he left you with
Which every cell in your body craves to burn

Till you can’t walk
Till you are sore,
Yet still smiling
from the thrilling experience,
Till you are sweating pleasure
from every pore.
Till your breath murmurs
my first name with every inhale
Till my voice is the only sound
your ears want, need to hear.

i would
rest my head on your bosom
and listen
Enjoy the sweet tunes composed by
every noted word you harmonise

Tales of your life stories before they became entwined with mine
Narratives about your dreams
About who breaks your glassy heart
And what tickles your eye-ducts
into opening a flood of tears.

an inner world of wishes
she deserves beautiful things,

“He And She”….. by Chirayu

A mighty voices raises for the time
Life started with the name of he
And Ended with Rhythms of She,
Finding he in a crowdy beats
With Hope Of Running soul hearted of She.

Walking in a path to find a shadow of he
But life plays an role to meet a new love as She
Saw Her first time met her first time
As She was the shadow before of mine
But a time left a voice of mine as
A beautiful Wanderer of Rover life….
I flight away by Lonely and silently mourning
On burning fire soul of mine.
She blooms and glows and shines,
And stares silently as the dry leaf of bright plant…
It smells and weep and tremble
Before love and the pain to find
it out Until the Next time again..
With the new name of Life & new time with the name of he
And will End the Rhythms of She…….

THERE IS ME, AND THAN THERE IS YOU, Poetry by Kristen Corbisiero

There is me, and than there is you,

Two fools who happened to cross paths,

And find stability in the utter chaos around us.

I found you, in the coldest part of my heart,

While you craved the darkness you sought in me.

So I’ll use you to ease into the noise of my cluttered mind,

Genre: dark, (toxic) relationships, love, and personal.

THERE IS ME, AND THAN THERE IS YOU

by Kristen Corbisiero

There is me, and than there is you,

Two fools who happened to cross paths,

And find stability in the utter chaos around us.

I found you, in the coldest part of my heart,

While you craved the darkness you sought in me.

So I’ll use you to ease into the noise of my cluttered mind,

And you can use me to try and tame you demons.

I think I see the Devil lapping at our heels,

To devour the saints we deluded ourselves into becoming,

For the tainted sinners we always were.

There is me. And now there is you,

Two scorned lovers in an exile bestowed only by those we’ve loved

(It doesn’t matter that they are we. Or we are they.)

I feel you in the deepest part of my bones,

Where my hands have found trouble and grace.

I lost it all when you dug yourself in my heart

Its ice and frost melting the waters that would flood my soul and

And that is the moment we drown.

There is me. There is you.

Two people who happened to know each other

From along time ago, from a past that is better left buried.

I want to fight, for what we had become, but I had be beaten and I was bruised.

So I‘ll sit here on the edge, holding onto every ‘if’ and every ‘maybe’,

Everything that crashed and brought us to our knees.

And we chase and we fall for the same thing every damn time.

But never into each other,

Now into the arms of something better, someone new.

Now there is me. Only me.

You’ve left to find yourself again,

Because you found you didn’t like who you became with me

You lost you mind, let it sink in the loudest part of our love,

So it fell in between the silence of the noise.

The thawed ice frozen once again, freezing back into place.

And the stability I found is numbing.

There is no longer me and there is no longer you.

Just two souls intertwined than detangled.

So we pray and pray, to be cleansed of the demon and devils

To find grace and peace in the walls of a pagan god.

Because I still feel the Devil lapping at our heels

Hungry for the sins we’ve yet to commit,

Waiting to wash away its innocence, and bath in the cruelty of our love.

We come to find the things we once found stability in,

Are the things that lead us further and further into the chaos of our broken minds.
