Vntitlxd, Poetry by Xzaviar Allen

I might sit down and light a whole spliff, my handwriting like I’m writing old scripts with a quill or ink pen

Genre: Hip Hop/Rap Lyrics, Dark, Thoughtful

Vntitlxd by Xzaviar Allen

I might sit down and light a whole spliff, my handwriting like I’m writing old scripts with a quill or ink pen, let the marijuana sink in until I tip off the deep end, fuck it I’ve been drinking all weekend, I usually keep the same routine- it’s all sequenced, I just wanna have some sunshine bleed through all seasons, when it’s dark out I make my own-caught in the rain tryna make it home in time to write an ancient poem on my favorite phone, living life in the danger zone- all straps and no archers, the gods of rap so heartless, lord send me a pen so I can write for once, looking for dawn to fight the dusk- I’m bout to Tyson up, lighten up- it’s another day in the jungle, another day I will run through life wondering what my days will come to, but staying humble- in the back ground I laugh now, among prostitutes alcohol and crack vials.

Poetry Reading: If I Was President by Molimau Fatu

The theme of my poem is to show how this country has fallen so low that all the candidates that they throw at us aren’t even worth voting for; despite people now waking up to this corrupt fallen system. I just wanted to put my stamp on that with imaging myself as president.

Journey of Spirit, Poetry by Tara Payne Steele

I journeyed to a land far across the sea,
where people were dying in front of me.
Their country was torn, they had no hope,
brother killing brother, how would they cope?
I whispered a prayer in everyone’s ear,
Understanding’s the answer, conquering fear.

Journey of Spirit by Tara Payne Steele

I dreamed a dream one starry night,
that my spirit was free to soar and take flight.

I journeyed to a land far across the sea,
where people were dying in front of me.
Their country was torn, they had no hope,
brother killing brother, how would they cope?
I whispered a prayer in everyone’s ear,
Understanding’s the answer, conquering fear.

My journey continued to another land,
where sweet babies were crying in the sand.
The children were starving, they had no hope,
without food and water, how would they cope?
I whispered a prayer in everyone’s ear,
Compassion’s the answer, conquering fear.

I journeyed to yet another place,
where souls cried out at an alarming pace.
Their hearts were broken, they had no hope,
devoid of purpose, how would they cope?
I whispered a prayer in everyone’s ear,
Faith’s the answer, conquering fear.

I journeyed home to finally rest,
spiritual satisfaction ended my quest.
The people were happy, they had new hope,
Love’s the answer, that’s how they would cope.
A peaceful world was finally at hand,
my dream for every child,
woman,
and man.

Poem For Tranquility by JoyAnne O’Donnell

Nature is pure poetry

The trees blowing an orchestra of words

The flowers seeing the petals of stars colors

The green grass growing

With the sun’s warm smile

The lunch breaks cool breeze

Taking the sweat from the ashes

Of work clouds

Rainbows shine on fridays ocean current

Special roses scent brand new days

With heaven’s brightest sun.

IN SILENCE I BLEED, Poetry by Bob Valleau

Amidst the laughter, I’m in pain.
Where is God when I call His name?
Don’t be fooled by what I hide.
I smile without though hurt inside.

IN SILENCE I BLEED
By. Bob Valleau
© 2016

Amidst the laughter, I’m in pain.

Where is God when I call His name?

Don’t be fooled by what I hide.

I smile without though hurt inside.

Does anyone notice? Does anyone care?

How lonely I am when no one’s there.

I scream. I cry. I long to flee.

For something or someone to comfort me.

Darkness abounds,

In silence I bleed.

A sliver of hope,

Is all I need.

These Shoes, by Latonia Sears

Most of the time people see you without knowing
What is really on your mind
making comments about the shoes you wear
because they are torn a leaning to the side
Laughing saying how they would not be caught dead in
raggedy shoes such as these

Genre: Freeform/ Society

These Shoes
by Latonia Sears

Most of the time people see you without knowing
What is really on your mind
making comments about the shoes you wear
because they are torn a leaning to the side
Laughing saying how they would not be caught dead in
raggedy shoes such as these
although for you it is a blessing for you
to have these shoes on your feet
For not everyone can wear these shoes
they are yours and fit you just right
the appearance of these shoes should be the last thing
on your mind while you have them in your sight
Just to walk in someone else’s shoes is extraordinarily in itself
history onfirms that so many have tried and failed
In these shoes you can walk life’s path
looking through some else ‘s eyes
It is not an easy task to see
another’s hopes and dreams
their beginnings and endings
and how they paid the price
Everyone’s shoes have walked a different path
some have strolled the red carpet while others
have walked through fire and glass
Although to each it was never a bother
Exactly like Jesus Christ and the shoes he wore
which made him destined to walk on water
All I am saying is shoes are shoes
no matter what style or size
It is the feet in the shoes that make the difference
Even if they are tired and ugly inside
So the next time just stop that person and
ask them where those shoes have taken them in life
and if you actually stop and talk to them
you can see their whole story
from the expression in their eyes

Wrongness, Poetry by Julie Martin

Dread crawls up your arm

On Sprightly legs

You cannot shake the feeling

Of a wrongness

Genre: Life, Society

Wrongness by Julie Martin

Dread crawls up your arm

On Sprightly legs

You cannot shake the feeling

Of a wrongness

As you stand there at twilight

Dark on a moonless night

Beside the empty eyes of a stranger

That shine under the glare of a moving train

Closer now, he creeps

Leaning, leering, targeting, choosing,

Will you be next?

As you debate whether to run or face your fate

His asymmetrical grin grows

His movements jerky, he’s been made

What will you do?

Thick blankets spread out in your dry throat

Can you cry out?

He turns to face you, a blessing to his hunger

Can you run?

Not a moment for impotent rage now

A moment for caution, a moment for speed

Open your eyes wide, pupils dilated

It’s crazy time

Saliva pools from your dry lips as you bare your teeth

A hiss here, a growl there

Fingers become claws as you prepare to fight

Disappointment clouds his features

Doubt dulls eyes once bright

You’re not on the menu tonight.

The Earth Through the Eyes of the Moon, Poetry by Julie Hartley

The Earth Through the Eyes of the Moon
by Julie Hartley

O magnificent Majesty, cornucopia in dark space
Your quiet splendour today, evokes a feeling of peace
Cerulean beauty, you are, shrouded in milky haze
I am your humble follower, enigmatic but at ease

We’ve traversed the way in sync, for many a year
Constantly evolving, we have come so very far
In all this great distance and all this passing time
We belonged together, following our parent star

I watched your many revolutions, turning myself too
Your conditions gently cooled, allowing life to grow,
Influencing your world, directing ebbs and flows
Leading thoughts skywards as the place to go

My bright pale aspect enlightened the dark night sky
Inspired beings upon you look towards my face
Our mutual attraction and long lasting solidarity
Culminated in lifeforms able to venture into space
