R.I.P William, Poetry by Vashaun D Baker

Genre: Death, Relationship

R.I.P William by Vashaun D Baker

Life….well young friend

You couldn’t out run that blimp In a race car

On a highway with clear roads because the bridge brakes at an incline

Launched into the sky through rings of fire like dare devil Evel Knievel without a wind chime, Or a cricket…silence!

Let see him out run death today,

And if he doesn’t he still deserves the up most praise,

Because who can say they went to the level he did to put a smile on someone’s face.

Shhh quite!  listen to the onlookers hearts beat simultaneously ,

Almost like the sound of a drum in the percussion section of a marching band.

The man who screamed “I hope he dies!” Was beating and removed from the stands.

How dare you wish death upon a beautiful man.

Only supporters fill these seats,

And if that man was to die In that car I could mention the names of multiple people who would rather have started that ignition sequence.

Thoughts have traveled a million miles per hour while our hero sits in the sky ,

Then at the clap of a hand of someone who thought he would survive,

he lands with a blown out tire,

Because the car landed with to much pressure on one of its sides,

And as everyone covers their mouths and begin to rise,

the automobile begins to ribbon twirl like an Olympic medalist with gold in front of her eyes,

But the actual gold was inside,

Rushed to the hospital you can almost imagine the chants from outside,
Fight! Fight! fight! fight! Fight! Fight!

Until the Window closes.

Now all he hears is the beautiful whispers from the ones standing on his left and sitting on his right.

Beep, Beep, Beep ,Beep,Beep, beep

Almost to the same rhythm of the one outside,

Yelling Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

He lost his life, but reminded us of ours

Another successful night – Vashaun D Baker

OH BEAUTY, BEAUTY, Poetry by Caitlin Dwight

Genre: Death, Life

OH BEAUTY, BEAUTY by Caitlin Dwight

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, before me you stand, unchained.
Oh, how I have come to adore your towers.
Oh, won’t you tell me, how many lives you have claimed?
How many veins have watered your flowers?
How many spirits have you nursed?
How many boys have fertilized your soil?
How many limbs have fallen victim to your thirst?
How many sons have you declined to assoil?

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, before me you stand, untamed.
Oh, how I have come to adore your breath.
Oh, won’t you tell me, how many lives you have claimed?
How many vessels have you gifted with your theft?
How many phantoms have you betrayed in their slumber?
How many girls have you gathered in sheaves?
How many lungs have you devoured in your hunger?
How many daughters have you had dancing with the leaves?

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, you make me wonder

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, will you ever sunder
Oh, me and my weaker breath
Oh, for your sweeter death?

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, how I have come to adore your sound and melody.
Written by Caitlin Dwight

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, before me you stand, unrestrained.
Oh, how I have come to adore your waves.
Oh, won’t tell me, how many lives you have claimed?
How many shells have you granted deep graves?
How many souls hide between your stones?
How many men give your plants ground to grow?
How many bones give your creatures homes?
How many fathers are you hiding down below?

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, before me you stand, inflamed.
Oh, how I have come to adore your light.
Oh, won’t tell me, how many lives you have claimed?
How many hulls have you swallowed in their plight?
How many ghosts have you dressed in your attire?
How many women have you broken with your prongs?
How many hearts have you sacrificed to your desire?
How many mothers are singing your songs?

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, you make me fear

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, am I in the clear
Oh, or am I ever required
Oh, to join your deadly choir?

Oh, Beauty, Beauty
Oh, how I have come to adore your sight and harmony

LETTER FROM A SYRIAN CHILD TO HIS MOTHER
by Valentina Meloni

Mom, you never told me

that you can die even breathing

I believed that to die

it would take a wound,

a crack from which life

could come out along with the blood …

Mom, you never told me

that you can die playing

among the stones and the dust

of the road who saw me run.

You never told me

you’d greeted me from so far away

and that, crying, your soul

would come to claim me.

Mom, you never told me

that you can die breathing in a dream,

that the air can also be a poison.

You told me not

I’d be an angel of glass,

asleep, in a white shroud.

Mom you never told me

the death would make me bright and beautiful

sweeping away the fear of bombs.

Mom … however,

I could not tell you yesterday,

while I was playing with the death

how much I loved you and wanted you well.

Reflection, Poetry by Barbara Hunt

She disappears as the dark abyss swallows her whole As she sits alone heart breaks with her soul filled with emotions

Genre: Dark, Death and Hurt

Reflection by Barbara Hunt

Darkness shadows and fear flash there jagged teeth towards her
She disappears as the dark abyss swallows her whole As she sits alone heart breaks with her soul filled with emotions
She looks at herself in the mirror and sees not herself but the dead girl smile back she shatters the mirror and drops to the floor uttering her name in the silence

Paris – The Atrocity
13th November 2015
by Jane Gill-Wilson

Gunfire out of nowhere
Bullets ricochet,
Blood shed in the city
On another Parisian day.
Eyes closed in anguish
As the shocking events unfold,
There is no rhyme or reason
As evil takes control.

Armed with Kalashnikov’s
On their killing spree,
Intent on ending life
As victims start to flee.
Mayhem in the city
Bodies on the ground,
Echoing explosion
Causing carnage all around.

The unfolding horror
An onslaught of war,
Is a crime against humanity
One the world abhors.
A nation now in mourning
Struggles to comprehend,
How lives were extinguished
Brought callously to an end.

Holding hands together
United we must stand,
To eradicate the evil
Infiltrating our land.
Drastic measures needed
As time is running out,
The future of our children
Should not be left in doubt.

‎PANDEMONIUM
by Vanessa Anthony

The past’s place misplaced
The future lacking in grace
The present looking faked
How much more can I take

Drifting in and out of shadows
No focus in the hallows
Darkness darker than dark
Here I lay, stark

Illusive mirage
Emotional barrage
Unbreakable chains
Unspeakable pains

Broken pieces
Heart beat ceases
Once again in darkness
Droned in madness
